How do I know if the College/Course is right for me?
To ensure that you make the best possible decision, we recommend that you research the courses available to you and the colleges offering the courses thoroughly. We have designed this website to tell you as much as we can about our college, but if you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact us directly.

Why choose RLC?
We believe that we can offer a unique academic and cultural experience to students from the UK and overseas. We strive to set standards in academic excellence, and our staff are committed to ensuring that our students get the absolute maximum benefit from their time with us. We invite you to learn more about the benefits of RLC by visiting our separate "why choose RLC" page.

What format do the courses you offer follow?
All lectures and study events are in English. Teaching time between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday, but you will be expected to devote additional time to study in the evenings and at weekends. Tuition is provided via lectures, seminars, guest lectures, Industrial visits and discussion groups. All our courses are full-time, and we keep class sizes small to ensure that you get as much contact with your lecturers as possible.

When does the term start?
Course start dates vary, but usually commence in either February or September. You can apply to enroll for a course at any time prior to the final enrollment date for that individual course. For more information on specific courses and start dates, please see our page on Courses.

Is there any age limit?
No. There is no age limit to study at Rayat London College. Students are accepted according to the admissions criteria.

What are the eligibility criteria?
Eligibility criteria vary from one program to another. For more information on the eligibility criteria for our BA (Hons) in Business Studies, and our Master of Business Administration (MBA) courses, please see our page on Courses.

How is Student Welfare organized in RLC?
At Rayat London College, the welfare of our students is of paramount importance to us. We have a full-time Student Welfare Officer who is available to help when needed. We also run a 'Student Advice Centre' every Tuesday to offer our students confidential advice and information on a variety of issues. We provide an educational and a career guidance service. International students are permitted to work up to 20 hours per week during term time, with no limits in vacation periods, but it is not recommended that students take part-time work for the full 20 hours, especially for postgraduate courses. You can typically expect to earn between £5 and £8 per hour. We also offer visa advice for international students. As a student in the UK you will be entitled to free medical registration with the local authorities. We also assist with subsidised public transportation within London and special banking facilities for overseas students. RLC will also assist in students with any accommodation requirements. For more information on these matters, please use the links herein.

What are the application procedures for international students?
If you are an international student, on receipt of your unconditional offer letter please apply to your local British Consulate for a UK student Visa. If you are a non-visa national you will required to produce evidence that you meet these requirements at passport control upon arrival in the UK. You may wish to apply for an "entry certificate" prior to your arrival. This document may be advantageous in certain circumstances but there is a charge and you have to visit the British Embassy or their representative to get it. If you are a non-visa national, a visa is not compulsory. We recommend that you obtain an optional entry clearance (known as an "entry certificate", rather than a "visa") in the following circumstances: . If you are coming to the UK as a student with your family. . If you are coming to the UK as a prospective student. . If you are coming to the UK to take a course of six months or less.

After I have applied for the course, when will I hear from you?
Once we have received your application form, our admissions team will verify the validity of your application details and make a decision about your application. Alternatively, we will make a decision based on your educational qualifications, employment history and English language ability, and let you know the outcome as soon as possible. Hopefully, we will be able to make you an offer of a place on a course. In the unlikely event that we cannot offer a place, we will contact you to let you know why.

I have got my results, what do I do now?
Call us. Even if you have achieved the required grades, contact us and we will confirm your offer. Don't forget to call us even if you haven't done as well as expected. We are often able to confirm offers even if you have dropped some points.

How often will I have to attend College?
Module requirements and durations vary. As a typical example, for our MBA program each study module is based on 56 learning hours. There are 8 Modules on the program and students are expected to attend at least 18 hours per week excluding self study time, which will usually require around 4 hours per module per week.

When will I know my timetable?
The lecture timetables are usually published just before Induction week. Once you have been accepted onto a course, you will be sent details on induction, and your timetable.

When will I start at Rayat London College?
At Rayat London College program semesters usually start at the beginning of September or the beginning of February each year. However as a fresher, you will be expected to be at College one week earlier in order to enroll and participate in the introductory sessions.

How can I pay for my course?
Payments can be made by a Demand Draft, Credit/Debit Card (VISA) or Bank Transfer.

Where will I live if I decide to study at Rayat London College?
There are many options. You may want to live in privately shared accommodation or you may want to rent a house with other students. If you don't fancy sharing, you may want to rent a flat or bed-sit alone. Whatever your requirements, our Accommodation Service can help you to find suitable housing for the duration of your course.

How often do you take on new groups of students ?
This varies from course to course. We offer a 1 year MBA program which has 2 intakes per year, usually in February and September. Please feel free to apply for any intake which you are interested in, as admissions are accepted on a roll-over basis throughout the year. The pre MBA session usually commences 3 months prior to the actual MBA course. We also offer a 3 year BA (Honours) in Business Studies, and a 4 year undergraduate MBA course. For more information on start times, intakes and the application process, please see our pages on Courses and Applications.

Can I bring my spouse to the UK with me?
The UK provides a dependant visa to spouses and dependants, so students can bring their spouses along if they or their sponsors can prove that they have sufficient funds for all members of the family throughout their stay in the UK. Your spouse can work full time in the UK so long as they are on a dependant visa.

Can I get a job while I am studying?
As a student, you are only allowed to work part time during your study term - a maximum of 20 hours a week. During vacations and after the completion of the course you are able to work full time in the UK - 40 hours a week or more. Our career placement advisors have considerable expertise in helping students to find a suitable job during their study period, and also after the completion of the MBA course. The minimum wage rate in the UK as of today is £5.52 an hour. Please also note that in the UK if you work on Weekends you will often be paid double times, and sometimes more based on your usual hourly rate. The college has no classes on the weekends and therefore provides students more opportunity to earn.

We hope this FAQ has answered any questions you may have had about RLC, but if you are still in doubt about any element of the College or our courses, please contact us directly and we will be glad to help.
